One Heart for Justice was founded in 2014 after South Korea’s Sewol Ferry disaster to support the victim's families in their journey to find the truth. It was started as a small community gathering, but became an official non-profit organization 501(c)(3) in 2019. We currently have 44 active members and expanded our activities to support war crime victims including Comfort Women and peace in Korean Peninsula.
One Heart for Justice is holding an online Sewol Art, Digital Design, and Media Competition to honor the 7th anniversary of the South Korea’s Sewol Ferry disaster.
In 2019, One Heart for Justice dedicated a "Sewol Memorial Bench" at Mitchell park in Palo Alto California in remembrance of the Sewol Ferry Disaster. The project was funded by 416 Foundation's Memories and Promise initiative. The Bench was erected in hopes of informing the visitors of Sewol Ferry Disaster as well as providing a place of short refuge.
