I created this painting in commemoration of a tragic disaster, Sewol. Praying for their peace and repose I wanted to express them raveling to another world of happiness that we believe is invisible but assured. These vibrant hues are the lights that their precious lives have generated, dreams that have been realized, and their hearts and brilliant lives. And with the dream of them marching forward with vigor, unhindered by any obstacles. There are two worlds in the painting, each of which presents a world of black and dark sadness and a world of happiness made up of various warm and beautiful colors. The bright colors are the light and their colors, of the victims who have been created. Their journey sails from the dark world toward an unknown but bright happy world. This is our desperate wish and our hopes. And as they sail toward another world, the yellow balloon flies into the dark world with winds containing their pain and fear. With the sorrow of the painful and agonizing disaster in our hearts, we look at them sailing back toward the light.

세월호 참사를 추모하는 마음으로 이 그림을 그렸습니다. 희생자들의 평화와 안식을 기원하며 보이지는 않지만 또 다른 행복의 세계로 떠나는 그들의 모습을 표현하고 싶었습니다. 작품의 화려한 색상은 그들의 소중한 삶이 만들어 낸 빛, 이제서야 발견하게 된 꿈, 그들의 마음과 찬란한 삶입니다. 또 어떤 장애물에도 방해받지 않고 힘차게 전진하는 꿈을 표현하기도 합니다. 그림에는 두 개의 세계가 있는데, 하나의 세계는 검고 어두운 슬픔의 세계, 그리고 다른 하나는 여러가지의 따뜻하고 아름다운 색상으로 구성된 행복의 세계를 나타냅니다. 밝은 색은 빛과 '그들의 색'이 만들어낸 희생자들의 색을 표현합니다. 그들의 여정은 어두운 세상에서 알려지지 않았지만 밝고 행복한 세상을 향해 항해합니다. 이것이 우리의 간절한 소망이자 희망입니다. 그리고 그들이 다른 세계를 향해 항해할 때 (밝고 따뜻한 세계) 노란 풍선은 고통과 두려움을 담은 바람과 함께 어두운 세계로 날아갑니다. 우리는 고통스럽고 참혹스러운 재난의 슬픔을 가슴에 안고 빛을 향해 항해하는 그들을 바라보고 있습니다.
